Post BMW’s next-generation 6-series coupe and cab?

BMW’s next-generation 6-series coupe and its variant aren’t due to arrive until late 2010 at the earliest as the current model was only given its mid-cycle facelift a little over a year ago. However, we can get a taste as to what to expect for the new GT thanks to these new renderings, which show the car will be heavily influenced by last year’s CS Concept.

The new car is expected to grow in size and feature a sportier design. The wheelbase will be slightly longer than the current car, but overhangs, both front and back, will be shorter. The new 6-series will also sit much lower than the current model, with a sleeker roofline adding to the sportier look.

There are rumors the car will be offered with two different versions, a more luxurious GT and an aggressive sports model. Inside, the cars will still feature plenty of luxury appointments as well as a new eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddle-shifters. The cabrio is also tipped to receive a new folding hard top instead of the current canvas roof.

The current engine lineup is expected to carry over relatively unchanged, however the range topping M6 could get a new twin-turbo V10 engine and dual-clutch transmission.

The front and rear look hideous! IMO they shouldn't completely redesign the 6 series but rather just touch it up.

As I said before do not take these third party photochops seriously. Trust me, BMW has nothing to do with them. This is purely photochop artists imagination, nothing else.

Of course not, BMW would never design anything that hideous.

Someone with Photoshop has way too much time on their hands

Obvious "theft" from the BMW CS show car.

Hint to the artist: do try to be a little more original. Not everything has to look like the CS. Even Bangle the Mangle (for what he does to a car's lines) is more original than this.
