| I think its a great idea as long as your not locked into one or the other. For example, if you want to add comfort options to a sport model.

| That's a great idea IMO. Mercedes has been doing that with at least the C-class. If BMW can offer both without it costing too much (i.e. changing production lines, etc.) then they will definitely be able to cater to more customers.
