Video Video: BMW drives the new 335d from San Francisco to LA

Diesel is finally starting to catch on the stateside and BMW is not missing out. Announced at the 2008 Detroit Auto Show, BMW will be bringing the new 335d and the X5 xDrive35d to the U.S. market in autumn of 2008. And what better place to show off the new fuel-efficient models than in the fuel-economy conscious state of California. Check out this video as BMW touts the 335d during a trip from San Francisco to LA.

Both models are powered by a 3.0L twin-turbo 6-cylinder diesel engine that produces 265-hp and 425lb-ft of torque. The result is a zero to sixty time of 6.2 seconds while still netting 23/33 MPG for the 335d and 7.2 seconds and 19/25 MPG for the X5 xDrive35d.

Kenny@JSW is on a distinguished road
Hmm, not much of an increase in MPG but still, it's still better than what we're getting now.
