car wont start

i have a 2000 328ci e46 with 872xx kms. one day when i went to the mall and finished i tried starting my car but it wont start. i pushed start the car then it started. i changed my altenator and my starter but still wont start. the mechanic told me that theres no power coming from the battery towards the starter. Can any one help meee
