Thoughts on '97 ///M3 ?

Hi; I'm new to bimmerpages. I'm considering buying a '97 M3 privately. Are there any bugs or defects in this year / model that I should be aware of?

One of my favorites the ol' e36 style...this forum is ore of the newer models so I would suggest maybe posting in the E36 m3 section or checking out m3forum.net 's E36 section as it's pretty active

IMO, the last "driver's" M3...truly a great performer.

I also love the E36 M's.I owned a 97coupe and a 99 convertible. The only problem I experienced was a snapped rear differential which was ultimately repaired under warranty and a bent exhaust valve (I was 19 yrs old)which was my fault. Other than that the cars took a lot of abuse. Good luck!

Great car. I used to own a '95 coupe and '98 convertible. Both were immensely fun to drive, and I miss them. Make sure to get a clean one with low miles that was well taken care of.

Cheers, Daniel.
