Having had both a C55 and an M3 I can see where Jeremy is coming from. In the end, the M3 is definitely a more rewarding car to drive at speed while for city folk considering the utility of the two cars, the amg would be a no brainer.

The C55 was simply brilliant as a daily driver, it was faultless. The M3 was more entertaining.

Whichever you choose it will be a fantastic car, even the RS4.

I agree DJ, an M3 sedan with BMW's DSG (SMG 7) would have been cool.

I think Jeremy was just smitten with the hammer and not so much the velvet glove of the C63.

And for the record, I have been saying since the RS4 came out that the new M3 would still be top dog.

i think the m3 is still a very good performer...if they come out with something to make the front bumper look better, i would love that. the interior still isnt wonderful or inspiring, but i do happen to like the interior of my dads 2 x3's, so maybe the new would be something to 'live with'. give it a year and a half, and that 70K m3 will be about 50K! that would make it a good deal.

again, good find dj!

and one thing about the video, i happen to really like richard hammonds reviews. he knows that its not all about the most hp or tq, but the way the power is put to the ground, and how agile the chasis is. i feel the same way.

OK now I have watched this video like 5 times already so first and foremost thanks DJ for this! Personally I would have rather seen a test with the new M3 sedan in the DCT version(which I don't even thing is confirmed) but for now I am surely happy with what I have seen.

On another note MB did a sick job on that Motor!
